Navigation within the Program
The Nav Bar
When you log in to the application the Navigation Bar, or Nav Bar, will be displayed down the right. It is a set of buttons which can take you anywhere within the software. Since there are several Nav Bars, this one is called the Home Nav Bar. The exact appearance will be dependent upon several variables. Some of these include:
(a) which version of the program you are using
(b) which options your organization has licensed
(c) what your user code setup allows you to access.
See Screens May Differ Among Users for a more detailed explanation.
When you click on a button on the Nav Bar, one of four things will happen:
-
The Nav Bar might change to display an entirely different set of buttons. This happens when you select an area of the program with a lot of options, such as Setup/Admin. The secondary Nav Bar will have a title at the top, and a Home button at the bottom to return to the Home Nav Bar.
Home Nav Bar Reporting Nav Bar
-
A sub-menu might appear to the right. This occurs when there is a short list of options to select from. If you first click on Setup/Admin, and then from the Setup & Admin Nav bar, select Providers, you will get a sub-menu.
-
Buttons for activities which are used a great deal go straight into a working window. White Board and Appointments are examples of these.
-
You might get a multi-tabbed menu display called a Launch Pad. Clicking Provider Practice on the Reporting Nav Bar will display the [Provider Practice Management Reporting] Launch Pad.
Provider_Practice_Management_Reporting
-
A lookup window might be displayed. Clicking Companies will display the [Select Company] window. Clicking Demographics will display the [Select Patient] window. On the lookup window you search for and select the specific company, patient, or some other entity to work with.
