How to Change a Surveillance Profile

Please read the Surveillance Profile Overview if you haven't already done so. If you want to know how to set up a Profile from scratch, see Surveillance Profile Set Up.

Summary

It's possible to add or remove items that appear on the Surveillance Profiles or change the position of one or more items on the list(s). Of course, you must have the appropriate user access rights to add to or change any of the profiles.

Remember that removing an item from a profile does notdelete the data from the database. It simply removes the item from displaying on the profile.

How to change A Profile

  1. On the Home Nav Bar, click the Setup/Admin button. (Remember, you must have access to Codes Setup to see and access this button.)

  2. Click the Clinical Setup button.

  3. Click the button for the Profile you want to change (Universal, Company, Job/Location).

  4. Note the following actions:

    • If there is more than one profile displayed, select the desired profile.

    • If you want to delete a Company profile altogether, click the REM button on this window.

  5. Once the desired profile is opened, click the tab for the profile you want to change (Activities, Conditions, Wellness, Exposures).

  6. To delete an activity, highlight it on the list and click Delete. Skip to Step 9.

  1. The only change you can make to an item on a profile, besides deleting or moving it up or down the list, is to change an Activity's rules!

    To change the rules:

    • Click the ACTIVITIES tab

    • Highlight the item on the list

    • Click the Change button.

  2. If needed, override the Medical Activity Rules that were established for this activity when it was initially set up on the table from which you are selecting it.

If, when you set up the medical activity code, you established rules for repeating the activity, and these rules also apply to the group for whom you are setting up this profile, you do not need to repeat the rules here. The program will use the initial rules, unless you override them at this point.

  1. Make your selections as desired. For detailed information on the choices, see Medical Activity Rules.

  2. Repeat from Step 4 to add or change other items.

  3. Click Close to close the window.
