HIPAA - The HIPAA Privacy Compliance System
HIPAA Guard enables you to set up rules to ensure compliance with the allowable response time for patient requests. When you enter the times that correspond to your organization's policy, HIPAA Guard will (a) calculate and display the required response "By When" date in red when documenting the request and (b) enable you to report pending actions so that you can manage compliance within the required time periods.
To set the rules, enter the days in each of the boxes on this window. The days shown are the system defaults, and represent that days indicated in the Privacy Standard.
If desired, you may Lock Disclosure Transactions. Locking the transaction means that, after the days specified here, no one will be able to make any changes to the record.
